RD AirÕs New Facility Making Steady Progress; Recent Additions to Aircraft Fleet
RD Air ServicesÕ new facility at Gainesville Regional Airport on schedule for completion this fall. Two Cessna Citation S/IIÕs added to the fleet of charter aircraft.
Gainesville, FL, September 15, 2008: RD Air Services is making rapid progress with the new facility. The site is bustling with contractors from floor to roof and progress can be seen on a daily basis. With equipment and materials moving in every day, it is beginning to look like the project that a dedicated group envisioned not but a few months ago. As the facility progresses, it becomes more evident how it will help increase the efficiency of RD AirÕs already outstanding charter and maintenance services.
It is hard to believe that only a few months ago it was a few empty acres of grassland overlooking the General Aviation Ramp. Now we have the hull of the two new buildings to show the expansion of the Gainesville General Aviation community. Wall studs are up in the 6,000 square feet of the Customer Services areas. The roof over the offices, customer service areas as well as the maintenance areas are on. The roofs for the two 24,000 square foot hangars are currently being installed.
The new facility will not only house the aircraft charter and management operations but the aircraft maintenance and repair operations as well. The maintenance facility will bring more options to local aircraft owners, as well as those who frequent the Gainesville area. The project is still on schedule and is expected to be completed by mid fall 2008.
RD Air plans to host a Grand Opening of the new Facility on December 12th. The event will be a night of food and entertainment. A short list of speakers will welcome local businesses, aircraft owners and the Aviation community.
Recently RD Air purchased two CE-S550Õs(S/II) adding more options for those looking for charter flights. These aircraft accommodate 8 passengers in a completely renovated double club cabin, executive area and fully enclosed lavatory. The S/IIs have a max range of 2,100 miles at 483 MPH. RD Air is excited to add these aircraft to the current fleet and to bring more choices to the services they provide to their clients.
